Head of Epitaxy and Physics of Nanostructures
Tyndall National Institute, University College Cork
Emanuele Pelucchi was attended TASC National Laboratory, Italy where he was awarded a PhD in the field of interface physics and semiconductor epitaxial growth. He moved to École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in 2001. In this context, he was involved in the research of site controlled III-V nanostructures, both quantum wires and single pyramidal quantum dots. This research yielded a rich harvest of scientific results and attracted wide attention in the semiconductor and photonic fields. In 2006 Dr Pelucchi established at Tyndall National Institute, University College Cork, an independent research group in the field of III-V epitaxy for telecom device applications and semiconductor site-controlled quantum dots, with special attention to their applications to quantum optics and quantum information.
Dr Pelucchi has published widely in his field and is regarded as a leading international expert.
