Six novice debaters battle it out for the coveted Maidens Trophy
We would like to invite you all to the Final of the George Boole Maiden Speaker Competition hosted by the UCC Law Society. Every year, UCC Law Society and UCC Philosophical Society collaborate for a competition which sees UCC's best new debaters compete in a display of wit, analytical reasoning and cogent argument. This 5 round competition allows students to develop their public speaking and critical thinking skills. The competition aims to increase their confidence and broadens their perspective. The motion for the evening will be that this house believes that religions should be held responsible for the crimes of their members.
