I'm An Engineer... Get Me Out of Here!

  • 06 Jan 2015

'I’m an Engineer... Get Me Out of Here!' has announced a Boole Zone for their competition in Engineers Week, February 2nd-13th 2015.

As University College Cork celebrates 200 years since the birth of the first Professor of Mathematics, George Boole, this competition will remember his legacy in a profession that is heavily based in his algebraic formulas with the Boole Zone. This is a free online event where school students meet and interact with engineers. The X Factor-style competition allows the students be the judges as the engineers are put through their paces.

Students challenge the engineers over fast-paced online live chats. They ask the engineers anything they want, and vote for their favourite engineer to win a prize of €500 to communicate their work with the public.

Check out last year’s engineers here. Resource packs are available for teachers and engineers and so we encourage everyone to sign up straight away. This fantastic opportunity to take part is open to all schools and you can register here.
